About the Opportunity
The Gunnedah Shire Council now has an exciting full time 35 hours per week opportunity for a Business Support Officer to join their team in Gunnedah, NSW.
Reporting to the Team Leader Customer Service, your key responsibility will be to provide efficient and effective customer service and administrative support to the Customer and Information Services' directorate.
Core duties:
- Receive, answer and re‐direct a range of telephone customer service enquiries for Council.
- Perform a range of customer service functions including customer requests, receipting payments and banking as required.
- Word process and format correspondence, preparation of meeting agendas and documents as required.
- Process and maintain electronic documentation and document scanning for the directorate.
- Coordinate catering, travel and accommodation bookings as required.
- Generate purchase orders and organise invoices for payment.
- General administration duties.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve work practices and productivity outcomes.
- Contribute to staff meetings/toolbox talks and raise issues and questions as appropriate.
- Use policies, procedures and standard work practices to carry out tasks in an effective manner.
- Participate in all identified training and development activities within agreed timescales.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in office administration, reception and general office duties.
Council is looking for an effective communicator with a high level attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills! Proficient computer skills across the Microsoft Suite is also paramount.
You will also be a proactive and self-motivating team player who has exceptional time management skills, and who is able to prioritise tasks and solve problems that arise.
