Salary: $81,541 - $90.006 + Superannuation

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Town Planner to join our dynamic planning team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage complex planning projects, provide expert advice, and shape the future of our community through strategic planning and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake Planning and Development (Statutory and Strategic) functions on behalf of Council.
  • Ensure that support is provided to professional staff in the implementation of legislation relative to town planning and building matters.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent (or currently completing such qualifications).
  • Understanding of the Planning and Environmental legislation and associated environmental legislation.
  • Evidence of commitment to customer service 
  • Display an ability to provide a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in Office Administration, including Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Understanding of building and engineering implications in the development assessment process.
  • Ability to manage multi-task workloads, deadlines and projects.
  • Ability to promote and maintain a teamwork approach to organisational work areas.
  • Understanding and ability to apply WHS, Risk Management and Equal Employment Opportunity principles.
  • Class C drivers license.
