Hourly Rate: $27.91 - $28.30 (Grade 2-4) + 25% Casual Loading + Superannuation

Boasting a dynamic community recreation center that prioritises safety and enjoyment for all visitors, Gunnedah Shire Council is looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. If you have the right attitude and potential, full training will be provided for successful applicants.

 

Our Next Pool Attendant/Kiosk Attendant

We’re looking for individuals who are safety-conscious, dependable, and customer-focused. If you have the right attitude and commitment, full lifeguard training will be provided. However, a background in water safety or experience in customer service is an advantage.

 

The Role

In this role your primary duty is to ensure the safe operation of the pool complex. You'll monitor the pool area, operate the pool kiosk, provide quick responses in emergencies, and contribute to a friendly and safe environment. This role is perfect for those committed to safety, whether you're already experienced or new to lifeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of swimmers by actively supervising the pool area.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the Kiosk as and when required, included but not limited, to food preparation, sales, cash handling, serving customers.
  • Respond swiftly and efficiently to any emergencies, providing first aid or CPR when needed.
  • Enforce pool rules and safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining pool cleanliness and general facility upkeep.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting patrons with inquiries or concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety drills to maintain high standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR qualifications are highly desirable but training will be provided for the right applicants.
  • Strong swimming ability and an understanding of water safety practices.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and act decisively in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • A current Working With Children Check.
