Salary Range: Grade 23 ($146,355 - $161,548 per year + 12% Superannuation)

 

Contract Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Our Next Manager Engineering Services

In this role, you will plan for and lead Council’s survey and design team, the strategy and asset team as well as manage the development engineering function of Council.

Additionally, you will ensure legislative and regulatory compliance as well as long term financial sustainability of all infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the survey, design, investigation, strategic planning, options development, financial analysis, cost estimation and programming of future works
  • Lead and develop the preparation of Asset Management Plans for long term sustainable asset management and infrastructure development
  • Oversee operations of function/ division including compliance with relevant service standards
  • Identify and implement improvements and enhancements to technical services
  • Devise and implement plans to manage identified operational and environmental risks
  • Ensure the appropriateness and timeliness of response to internal/external customer requests
  • Deliver a cost effective and operationally efficient range of services to the organisation
  • Ensure implementation of applicable industry best practice and government guidelines
  • Ensure that appropriate contracts are in place for supply of goods and services to achieve established goals for function
  • Set up auditing and reporting controls to manage quality and effectiveness of function
  • Participate in all identified training and development activities within agreed timescales
  • Undertake the role of Project Manager with the responsibility of controlling the activities and budgets of specific projects
  • Ensure all project delivery is undertaken in accordance with Council’s adopted Project Management Framework
  • Undertake the preparation of specifications, tender/contract documents for operational and capital projects including calling and review of tenders and quotations
  • Conduct reviews following completion of projects to ensure delivery of project objectives

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership to the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
  • Relevant experience in Asset Management, Asset Strategy, Survey, Design, and Development Engineering.
  • Holder of current WHS Construction Induction Certificate.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability and continued commitment to work according to Councils' policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision.

Current valid NSW Class C Drivers Licence (ongoing employment is conditional on maintaining this Licence).
