Contract Type: Temporary Full Time (Duration of Traineeship - 18 Months)
Hours: Full Time, 38 hours per week

We are currently seeking a Trainee in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation to join our team and help us maintain these standards.
Role Overview:
As a Trainee in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation, you will support the delivery of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of the community while demonstrating professionalism, honesty and transparency. You will support operational efficiency and provide clear and accurate communication while upholding safety standards within council facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planned and programmed work of casual staff, ensuring adequate levels of pool supervision to correspond with the number of pool users and types of user groups.
- Help implement and monitor daily pool maintenance tasks.
- Provide a high level of service and interaction with pool clientele.
- Complete documentation and record relevant information that is required for the operation of the swimming pool complex e.g. plant sheets.
- Undertake training to maintain personal industry qualifications are met.
- Promote a safe working environment for all employees and patrons by identifying hazards and mitigating risks.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and council policies and procedures.
- Supervision of pool patrons.
- Maintain water pool quality.
- Kiosk operations.
- Carry out maintenance of the plant, pumps, and surrounds.
- Custodial duties.
- Maintain required qualifications essential for the position and undertake agreed training to meet the position’s desired skill level.
- Provide quality administration support as required.
- Any other task as directed by Coordinator Aquatic Complex to support the day-to-day operations of the swimming pool.

- Commitment to both on the job and off the job training.
- Accuracy and eye for detail.
- Ability and continued commitment to work according to Councils' policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision.
- Working effectively with others including volunteers.
