We are seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic about learning customer service and administration skills whilst serving the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative, customer service and project support across teams within Customer and Information Services, including Records, Customer Service, Communications, IT and Corporate Training.
- Successfully undertake a course of training designed to equip the incumbent with skill equivalent to a Certificate III in a relevant field.
- Contribute to ongoing projects by performing assigned tasks and supporting team objectives.
- Assist with general records management and administration duties throughout the Corporate Services Directorate.
- Assist with filing, indexing and maintaining physical and electronic records in accordance with Council’s Records Management policies.
- Communicate with colleagues and customers via telephone, email and face to face.
- Process payments and undertake receipting and cash handling duties.
- Help prepare simple internal messages like newsletters or notices.
- Assist with updating information on noticeboards or intranet pages.
- Help organise training materials and prepare resources for internal workshops and development activities.
- Support the IT helpdesk and assist with basic troubleshooting under supervision.
- Assist with data entry and updating GIS datasets as directed.
- Undertake general administration duties as directed.
- Limited word processing: general day to day correspondence.
- Work within agreed individual work objectives, work and training plans.
- Attend internal and external training sessions as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of services for Council and the community.
Key Requirements

- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required.
- Ability to follow instructions and guidelines.
- Ability to assess, prioritise and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on completing tasks accurately.
While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative environment (including school, volunteer or casual work).
- Experience or willingness to learn basic cash handling and receipting tasks.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Current valid NSW Drivers Licence.
