Salary Range: Grade 5 ($32.28 per hour + 12% Superannuation)

The Role

The role of Cultural Precinct Shift Supervisor is an integral part of our team and is designed to deliver visitor information services and venue services, and to assist the Cultural Precinct Team Leader by taking a cooperative and proactive approach in the operation of the Cultural Precinct including The Civic Theatre and associated function rooms. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to visitors, venue users, customers and community members to ensure their experience of Gunnedah and the Cultural Precinct is positive and rewarding;
  • Supervise casual staff in consultation with Cultural Precinct Team Leader;
  • Monitor, prepare and operate the projector and audio-visual equipment for the purpose of delivering movie screenings to the public.
  • Prepare venue facilities and rooms for the purpose of public and private meetings, functions and events and film projection;
  • Maintain the presentation of the facility to the highest of standards, undertaking basic facility cleaning duties and functions;
  • Undertake any other duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and training.
  • Comply with Council’s code of conduct, WHS management system and all relevant policies and procedures
  • Provide quality customer service to visitors and the local community
  • Perform cash handling and reconciliation duties, including refunds and exchanges
  • Operate theatre projector and point of sale system
  • Basic cleaning and venue set up

 Key Requirements

  • Experience in customer service;
  • Availability to work weekends, public holidays and after hours;
  • Cash handling and reconciliation skills;
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment;
  • Portray a professional and confident image;
  • Display a strong sense of motivation and initiative;
  • Good general knowledge of local area;
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and to a high standard.

While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:

  • Relevant qualification or experience in office administration and event management support
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Current RSA certificate
  • Previous experience in operating digital Audio/Visual equipment.
