Salary Range: Grade 19 ($2280.20 - $2516.91 per week + 12% Superannuation & 3.5% CLA)

Our Next Strategy and Assets Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input for designs, and oversee the design process
  • Provide timely provision of accurate assessment of development with regard to civil infrastructure requirements – including DA conditions, contributions under DSPs, and provisions of VPAs
  • Check designs and plans for technical validity
  • Undertake inspections and review testing for approval of civil infrastructure works, and negotiate resolution of issues with applicants, consultants, and contractors
  • Consult internal stakeholders to ensure assets transferred to GSC meet community standards and provide value for community stakeholders in accordance with GSC strategies and policies.
  • Provide technical support for staff; and
  • Provide quality administration support as required.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership of Engineers Australia
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Work (White Card)
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability and continued commitment to work according to Councils' policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision.
  • Current valid NSW Class C Drivers Licence (ongoing employment is conditional on maintaining this Licence).

While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:

  • Experience in Local Government.
  • Experience in Design for civil infrastructure
