Salary Range: Grade 7 ($1190.10 - 1313.65 per week + 12% Superannuation)

Our Next GoCo Driver

Reporting to the Transport Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for operating within and promoting the virtues of Council's core values. You will have a focus on providing personalised care and support for people who want the freedom to live independently in the comfort of their home. You will assist elderly people, people with moderate to severe disabilities and carers with complex needs to live a life of their choice and prevent inappropriate institutionalization 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by the provision of high quality community transport services to eligible customers.
  • Providing safe and quality transport experiences for GoCo clients.
  • Enter transport trip data into software linked tablet
  • Effective time management and reporting using GoCo systems and procedures
  • Maintaining fleet cleanliness and sanitisation
  • Willingness to undertake training courses to increase skill base.

 Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in providing transport services and/or driving in the community
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the transport, mobility, social, cultural, family and lifestyle needs of the Gunnedah Community.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to, implement the principles of customer service and community care.
  • Effective problem solving, negotiation and communications skills and capacity to communicate with frail aged people, carers, people with disabilities, and transport disadvantaged customers.
  • Cultural sensitivity.
  • Understanding of and commitment to WH&S and EEO.
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Meet the commercial driver’s licence requirements
  • Working with Children check  

* While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:

  • Current first aid certificate
  • Previous experience in Local Government or community transport services
  • Certificate III in Community Services/Aged Care or willingness to obtain
  • Technology Savvy
