Our Next Business Support Officer - Infrastructure Services
Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the Director Infrastructure Services, this role will work closely with the Infrastructure Services team to provide administrative support to a number of functions within the department, including but not limited to Water Services, Public Facilities, Plant & Depot Services, Works, Engineering Services and Project Services.
To succeed in the role, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skill with an ability to work independently and initiative and work efficiently as part of a team. High level computer, systems and database skill, including Record Management Systems. As well as demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide efficient administrative support to Infrastructure Team.
- Promote a positive and professional image of Council by the delivery of quality, accurate and timely service.
- Identify with your Supervisor any training and development needs in line with delivery of Council’s and the Directorate’s objectives and undertake all identified training and development actions as determined.
- Comply with Councils’ code of conduct, Workplace Health & Safety management system and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required commensurate with this classification level.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in business or office administration or the equivalent of 3 years' experience in a high demand office environment. High level written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Key requirements for this position include:
- Strong attention to detail as well as outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- A self-motivated nature along with high levels of initiative and the ability to meet deadlines.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously as required.
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and continued commitment to work according to Councils' policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision.
- Current valid NSW Class C Drivers Licence (ongoing employment is conditional on maintaining this Licence).
* While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:
- Experience in Local Government.
- Previous experience with electronic management systems.
- Willingness to enrol and obtain a certificate in Business Administration or similar qualification relevant to the role.
