Our Next Business Administration Trainee - GoCo
Do you want an opportunity to gain advanced office skills whilst achieving a Certificate III in Business?
Are you punctual, reliable and motivated to be a positive member of a dedicated team of Customer Service professionals?
Gunnedah Shire Council and GoCo perform a range of functions, and we provide a progressive, rewarding and varied working environment.
We are seeking a motivated individual who is enthusiastic about learning customer service and administration skills whilst serving the community.
Key duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating with customers via telephone, email and face to face.
- Processing customer service requests.
- Processing payments and undertake receipting and cash handling duties.
- Undertaking general administration duties as directed.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide administrative and reception support to GoCo.
- Support all GoCo Staff with administrative tasks as required
- Promote a positive, professional and efficient image of Council by the delivery of quality, accurate and timely customer service.
- Promote and maintain Council’s electronic record management system
- Undertake a course of training designed to equip the incumbent with skill equivalent to a Business Administration certificate (Certificate III).
- Identify with your Supervisor any training and development needs in line with delivery of Council’s and the GoCo’s objectives and undertake all identified training and development actions as determined.
- Comply with Councils’ code of conduct, Workplace Health & Safety management system and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required commensurate with this classification level.
- Provide quality administration support as required

What You’ll Bring to the Team
Key requirements for this position include:
- Commitment to both on and off the job training, including completing relevant qualification associated with the traineeship.
- A can-do attitude and strong work ethic
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Accuracy and eye for detail
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and continued commitment to work according to Councils' policies and Code of Conduct, with or without supervision
* While not required, desirable characteristics of a successful candidate could include:
- Experience in Local Government.
- Current valid NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
